Biography

Pietro Fraccaroli is a doctoral researcher in Agricultural Economics at the University of Bonn, funded by PhenoRob — the DFG Cluster of Excellence for Robotics and Phenotyping for Sustainable Crop Production. He is part of Core Project 7 (CP7), which examines the adoption and diffusion of digital agricultural technologies, the barriers farmers face, and the socio-economic conditions that shape sustainable agricultural transformation. His research focuses on how physical-environmental differences between technology-producing and technology-receiving countries constrain the diffusion of agricultural machinery across the developing world, combining causal inference methods with data on patents and trade flows.

Prior to his doctoral studies, he held research assistant positions at the Istituto Carlo Cattaneo, the University of Bologna, and the Collegio Carlo Alberto. He holds a Master in Economics from the Barcelona School of Economics, a Master in Economics and Public Policy from the University of Bologna, and a Bachelor in Economics and Finance from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
